Fifteen-year-old Hu Chun is part of the China–Indonesia giant panda conservation and research cooperation program. According to the park, monitoring footage shows that since giving birth, Hu Chun has kept the cub close, with normal nursing and caregiving behavior. Both mother and cub are in stable condition. Staff are observing them around the clock via remote monitoring and will step in with assistance if needed.
As the cub is still highly sensitive to its surroundings, the panda enclosure is temporarily closed to the public. The park said it will share more images and educational content once Rio’s condition becomes more stable.
