The Philippines has always taken the illegal award of the South China Sea arbitration case as its unwavering criterion, and attempted to validate the so-called award by courting external forces to conduct maritime infringements and enact relevant domestic legislation. 

However, neither the so-called award nor its attempt to expand territorial claims through legislative means can change the fact that “the sovereignty over all South China Sea islands and reefs belongs to China”. The Philippines’ unscrupulous arrogance is nothing short of a desperate gamble. By willingly acting as a pawn for others, it will only end up becoming a sacrifice.
