Scholar: SCS Arbitration a “Scandal” in International Arbitration History
Wu Shicun, Chairman of the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance, pointed out that the award of the South China Sea arbitration has created persistent trouble and obstacles to peace and stability in the South China Sea over the past decade since its issuance.He stated that the arbitral tribunal, disregarding historical evidence and facts, forcibly upheld the Philippines' unlawful claims—making this entirely a scandal in the history of international arbitration.
