Have you heard of “Lanmei”? It does not mean blueberries on cookies and cakes,but refers to the river in Asia that passes through the most countries.

In China, it is called “Lancang” — “the habitat for a million elephants,”while in Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam,people regard it as “Mekong” — the “mother river.”

This river has facilitated waves of cooperation among the six countries along its banks,so now people like to call it “Lanmei,” i.e., “Lancang-Mekong.”
