The loneliest father and son in China, guarding the Lingao Lighthouse, Hainan. Behind each ancient lighthouse there is a beautiful story. Carrying “Lighthouse Keeping”, a book by Jeanette Winterson, Zhou Wei visited the Lingao Lighthouse, Hainan as the anchor of Reading, a program produced by Voice of the South China Sea. Standing at the west entrance of Qiongzhou Strait, the lighthouse was designed and manufactured in France more than 120 years ago and was then shipped to Hainan for assembly. It has now become a special sight on the coastline of South China.
