China and Malaysia Hold the 1st Bilateral Dialogue on the Management of Maritime Issues in the South China Sea

On October 16, 2024, the 1st Bilateral Dialogue between China and Malaysia on the Management of Maritime Issues in the South China Sea was held in Langkawi, Malaysia. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and Director-General of Malaysia's National Security Council Datuk Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin co-chaired the meeting, with representatives from the two countries' key maritime departments in attendance.

 

The two sides spoke highly of the friendly relations between China and Malaysia, had an in-depth exchange of views on the current maritime situation and related issues, and reached common understandings on promoting China-Malaysia maritime practical cooperation.
