Reckless Adventurism: How Manila's Intrusion Endangered South China Sea Stability
2025-08-13 20:00:01

On August 11, 2025, multiple Philippine Coast Guard vessels and official ships under the guise of resupplying fishing boats, deliberately intruded into adjacent waters of China’s Huangyan Dao. Chinese Coast Guard took necessary measures including monitoring, interception and control, to drive them away lawfully.

Yang Xiao, researcher at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) stated that the Philippines’ provocative intrusion is both malicious and dangerous. The actions of Philippine vessels were highly irregular and unsafe, seriously threatening professional and restrained Chinese law enforcement ships and personnel. The Philippines must bear full responsibility for all damages caused.
