On September 16, multiple Philippine official vessels illegally entered the territorial waters of China’s Huangyan Dao. During the incident, one of the vessels intentionally collided with a China Coast Guard (CCG) ship that was carrying out routine law enforcement operations. In response, the CCG took necessary regulatory measures in accordance with the law.
Experts noted that Manila's actions appear to be a form of retaliation against China’s lawful establishment of the Huangyan Dao National-level Nature Reserve. Such behavior reveals the hypocrisy and double standards of the Philippines regarding ecological protection and security stability in the South China Sea.
