China approves establishment of national-level nature reserve at Huangyan Dao
China's State Council has recently responded and approved a proposal by the Ministry of Natural Resources to establish a national-level nature reserve at Huangyan Dao, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources on Wednesday.
The released document states that the State Council has approved the establishment of the Huangyan Dao National-Level Nature Reserve. The creation of this reserve is a crucial measure to maintain the diversity, stability, and sustainability of Huangyan Dao's natural ecosystem.
It instructed relevant departments and local authorities to strictly enforce the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Nature Reserves and other rules governing the construction and management of protected areas.
Relevant authorities were urged to assume full responsibility for ecological protection, strengthen leadership and coordination, improve management institutions, and step up oversight and law enforcement against any illegal activities within the nature reserve. These measures aim to ensure that management practices are fully implemented and the overall standards of building and administering national-level reserves are continuously improved.
The specific area, boundaries, and functional zones of the Huangyan Dao National-Level Nature Reserve will be announced separately by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the release added.
