On December 12, the Philippines mustered multiple vessels to intrude into waters near China’s Xianbin Jiao. China took lawful and regulated measures to verify the situation and drive the vessels away.

During the incident, the Philippine “fishing vessels” disregarded repeated warnings and dissuasion from China, remained inside the lagoon of Xianbin Jiao, and repeatedly engaged in dangerous maneuvers, including deliberate course changes. Philippine personnel even brandished knives to threaten China Coast Guard officers conducting on-site rights protection and law enforcement. Footage from the scene has been released.
