The island of Gary in the Malaysian state of Selangor is home to the Mammeri people, who pay homage to their ancestors and ask for blessings during the annual Alimuyang ceremony. First, they will go to the altar built with palm leaves, pay homage to the wood-carved statue of their ancestors and receive the priest's spells, and then they will put on their masks and dance.
