I recently went to the Tonkin Gulf of China's southwestern coast, and for the first time in my life, I got the marvelous experience of releasing fish, which is professionally called "stocking and releasing".
The volunteers in the photo are from China and many countries in Southeast Asia. We spent one hour to release 128 million fry into the sea. The Gulf of Tonkin, bordered by Vietnam to the west and China's Leizhou Peninsula and Hainan Island to the east, is a beautiful bay with an area of about 128,000 km². When these fish grow up, both Chinese and Vietnamese fishermen will benefit from them, and this is the seventh time that China and Vietnam have jointly organized this stocking and releasing activity. The fry’s arrival will not only improve the water quality here, but also better maintain marine biodiversity.
Finally, let's take a look at these cute little ones. After all, it won't be easy to meet them when they grow up:
Pic 1: Purple red snapper: beautiful alive, tasty when dead.
Pic 2: Mako: one of the best topping for a sashimi.
Pic 3: Black seabream: deep-sea treasure and black diamond on the seabed.
Pic 4: The grouper: can grow up to 1.2 meters!
