Li Kaisheng: The Philippines Is in No Position to Lecture Others on International Law
After the Philippine defense chief again hyped up the so-called "South China Sea arbitration" at the Shangri-La Dialogue and denied China's maritime sovereignty and rights, Li Kaisheng, Vice-President of the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, said at the TidesAndVoices themed salon that Manila's unilateral "arbitration" against China, under a false legal guise, was illegal and a betrayal of international law. He said the Philippines cherry-picks UNCLOS and weaponizes it for political farce.
