At the "Tides And Voices" themed salon, Yang Xiao, researcher at the Institute of Peaceful Development, CASS, said the Philippines has signed agreements on visiting forces with several extra-regional countries and held frequent joint drills, seriously harming regional peace and stability. Its self-styled "Archipelagic Sentinel" role is in fact a bid to draw in external forces and keep stirring up trouble in the South China Sea.
